John Maxwell: Five Levels of Influence

John Maxwell has been teaching the Five Levels of Influence for decades, as a simple but profound tool to help people understand what leadership looks like, and how they can become better leaders by growing their influence. Here is an abridged version where he talks through what Position, Permission, Production, People Development and Pinnacle levels of influence look like in practice.

John Maxwell

John Maxwell is an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, coach, and author who has sold over 19 million books. Many of his books on leadership are bestsellers. An ordained pastor with the Wesleyan Church, he found his leadership lessons were relevant beyond church circles, and since the 1990s has devoted his time to teaching leadership to people in business, in the military and in charity circles, alongside church leaders.

The five levels of influence is his most original contribution to the field of leadership; watch him teach through a summary of it in the video above.
